How to play Puffgrove

A visual guide · Shape your first Perfect fit

Your goal

Shape your puff for each little doorway.

Hold to stretch tall and narrow. Release to settle low and wide. Fit your puff inside the doorway when its firefly gauge fills. Follow eight doors to a clearing, then keep wandering or bank your points.

These are simplified teaching diagrams, drawn with the game’s actual puff and opening geometry.

01Make your first fit

Adjust now; the doorway checks automatically

Before · adjust tallerDeadline · Perfect+150 points
The first opening is medium shaped. In the upper snapshot the puff is too wide. In the lower snapshot it is centered when the deadline arrives, earning Perfect +150. The reed frame has a rectangular opening.
  • Choose Start Wandering. Hold the puff, play field or Hold to stretch pad to grow taller.
  • Release to settle wider. Make short adjustments around the dashed ideal silhouette while watching the firefly gauge.
  • Keep the whole puff inside the opening at the moment the gauge fills. The game then gives a brief result and moves to the next door.

Releasing keeps changing your shape. It does not confirm a fit or trigger a hop. A shape that Fits now can drift outside the opening before the deadline.

Taller, Wider and Fits describe this moment

Taller · holdWider · releaseFits · keep adjusting
The same medium opening is shown three times. Taller asks for a hold; Wider asks for a release. Fits means the current puff is contained. Aim near the center for Perfect, and continue adjusting until the door opens.

The Next silhouette shows the following door. Score is your earned total, Streak counts consecutive fits, the eight leaf markers track this trail, and Glow shows remaining lives. Words and shapes support the colors.

03Build a shining streak

A fit earns 100; Perfect adds 50

Fit 1Clean fit+100Fit 1Perfect+150Fit 5Clean fit+200Fit 13Perfect+600
The multiplier applies to the full award. These examples use the actual scoring rules: 100 and 150 at ×1, 200 for a clean fifth consecutive fit at ×2, and 600 for a Perfect thirteenth fit at ×4.

Every four consecutive fits lift the multiplier

Fits 1–4×1Fits 5–8×2Fits 9–12×3Fits 13+×4Miss · streak returns to 0
The fifth fit earns ×2, the ninth ×3, and the thirteenth ×4. The multiplier then stays at ×4. A miss gives no points and resets Streak to zero; earned score stays yours.

Eight Perfect fits in your first trail earn 1,800 points. Keep that Perfect streak through a second trail and your total reaches 6,000.

04Rest in a clearing, then choose your next trail

Every checked doorway uses a marker, including a miss. If you still have glow after door eight, the clearing waits without a timer. Next Trail keeps your score, streak and remaining glow, and starts the puff at its middle shape with no hold carried over.
  • A miss uses one glow pip and breaks your streak. Three misses finish the run after the brief feedback.
  • Doorways get faster and tighter through trail four. From trail four onward the speed and fit allowance stay the same; later trail patterns cycle endlessly.
  • Bank Score finishes with the points already earned. You can bank during play, feedback, pause or a clearing. Play Again begins a fresh run.

05Use the controls and take a pause

  • Mouse or touch: hold the puff, play field or Hold to stretch pad; release to settle. The pad lets you see the puff above your finger.
  • Keyboard: focus the play field, then hold Space or Arrow Up. Press P there to pause or resume. Buttons use their normal Space or Enter activation.
  • Pause freezes shape and the remaining doorway time. Resume gives a one-second Ready beat before play continues. Make a fresh hold after Start Wandering, Next Trail or Resume.
  • How to Play and Visual Guide freeze the mounted game and clear held inputs. Closing help during an active doorway gives the same Ready beat. A run already manually paused stays paused.
  • Switching away, a canceled touch or a long visible frame gap parks the run. Choose Resume when you are ready; unseen time does not consume glow.

Your game is waiting while you read. Close the guide, take the Ready beat, and make a fresh hold when play continues.
